Exploring Personal Growth at the "Freedom of the Self" Workshop and Kamlanie
Personal growth often feels like a journey without a clear path. Over the weekend, I hosted the "Freedom of the Self" Workshop and Kamlanie, an experience that offered practical tools and deep insights for self-discovery and how to prepare for the time of the "Cold Sun". This workshop was not just another event; it was a space where individuals could explore their inner worlds to see what goals would be good to set for this time of year.

The workshop began with a warm welcome from Kamlanie, whose calm presence immediately set a tone of trust and openness. The environment was carefully designed to encourage reflection and sharing. Participants were invited to leave distractions behind and focus fully on their personal journey.
We spoke about something I call the "8 of cups" whole self wellness circle. This speaks to walking away from something, to seek a deeper meaning. This is also referencing the 8 different self-care "cups" or categories that we should be checking in on to achieve balance.
Setting the Stage for Self-Discovery

Kamlanie introduced the concept of freedom not as an external condition but as an internal state. This idea challenged many of us to rethink how we perceive limitations in our lives. The workshop emphasized that true freedom comes from understanding and accepting ourselves deeply.
Practical Exercises That Opened New Perspectives
One of the most impactful parts of the workshop were the discussions, but also the sensing aspects of being still, drumming, and allowing input to come to the person.
The main topic here is about checking in with ourselves to see what areas need to balanced in preparation for the months ahead. This awareness became a catalyst for change, encouraging us to make choices that reflect our true priorities.
Building Connections and Community
The workshop was not only about individual growth but also about building connections. Sharing experiences in a small group- creating a sense of community and support. Hearing others’ stories reminded me that personal growth is a shared human experience.
It was also very beautiful to see strangers connecting with each other and feeling acceptance.

Applying Insights to Everyday Life
The true test of any workshop is how its lessons translate into daily living. Since attending the Freedom of the Self Workshop, I have noticed subtle but meaningful shifts in my own mindset. .
Why This Workshop Stands Out
What sets this workshop apart is its balance. As a Kam, I do not just offer abstract ideas; I provide tools that anyone can use immediately. The supportive environment encourages honest self-reflection without pressure or judgment.
The workshop’s focus on freedom as an internal state is a refreshing perspective. It shifts the focus from external circumstances to personal empowerment, which feels both realistic and hopeful.
Tips for Anyone Considering attending
If you are thinking about attending a similar event,
Come with an open mind: Be ready to explore parts of yourself you might usually avoid.
Participate fully: Engage in exercises and discussions even if they feel uncomfortable at first.
Take notes: Writing down insights helps solidify learning and makes it easier to revisit later.
Connect with others: Building relationships with fellow participants can provide ongoing support.
Practice regularly: Use the tools and techniques you learn consistently to see lasting change.
Continuing the Journey Beyond the Workshop
Personal growth is ongoing, and workshops like this are just one step. The Freedom of the Self Workshop and Kamlanie offers a strong foundation, but the real work happens afterward. Setting intentions, practicing new habits, and staying connected with supportive communities can help maintain momentum.
For those who want to deepen their experience, I offer follow-up sessions and resources that provide continued guidance.
I want to thank each participant who attended. Your willingness to trust me and be fully present was a beautiful gift. I truly enjoyed myself and hope to see you again soon!
Be Well,
Khaluna Kam
